Articulated Columns, by Jack King

Published by under Bowl

This double sculpture is located on the west side of Franklin Street, just a little north of Cass Street.

This picture does not do credit to the pieces.  There is an incredible amount of detail in this artwork.  I recommend you view this with your own Mark 1′s (eyes).

The website listed on the placard is incorrect.  The correct website is http://www.jackking.net.

Downtown Art: Family Ladder by Bradley Arthur

Published by under Bowl

This original sculpture by Bradley Arthur is located on the north west corner of the intersection of Franklin and Royal, right in front of the Fly Bar and Restaurant.

I think there is a lot going on here, but  I can’t get my impressions to jell tonight.

Perhaps some of you could share your views on this?

Downtown Art: Magic Rain by Gus Ocamposilva

Published by under Bowl

The Art Gnomes have been moving things around downtown.  And the weather has finally gotten cool enough to venture forth without heat stroke.

This piece is located on the east side of New City Hall, on Franklin St.

Espanola by Manuel Neri

Published by under Bowl

This adorns the center of the ground floor of Rivergate Tower, AKA the Beercan Building.  The Brass Bowl has been negligent in pointing out this wonderful marble statute.

The image is slightly grainy due to me shooting this in ambient light.  Seems my batteries were not up to the chore of powering up the flash.

However, I think the image came out rather well.  But you should visit the image in person, and see for yourself.

Park Art – Gaslight Square

Published by under Bowl

As I indicated in my previous post, new sculptures are popping up downtown.

Here is a piece (again, untitled and uncredited) located in Gaslight Park.

To  me, the components are arranged in a cascade, and I get a sense of downward motion when looking at this piece.  Not in a falling down manner, but rather like returning to earth.

What do you think?

Stainless Steel Heart?

Published by under Bowl

New art is being displayed in several locations in downtown Tampa.  This piece, displayed without an artist’s name or title, is on Franklin St, just north of Madison.

I like how the artist incorporated  a bit of unbalance in the piece, with one side being larger than the next.  To me, it illustrates how love and life can be asymmetrical at times.
