Curtis Hixon Park Makeover
Once a poster child for tripping hazards, Curtis Hixon Park has been made over in its own image. The decking was stripped to bare concrete, the leaks sealed (it is the roof of a parking garage), the components cleaned and reinstalled along with new soil. Paint and other restoration work has made this park into a prime lunch spot. I can’t wait for it to reopen.




This park has an interesting history that was covered in detail by Creative Loafing a few years back. It’s nice to see that it’s been restored and the trees that were causing problems were removed.
