"Dog Days of Summer" – Stephanie Grimes

Published by George under Bowl

Working in watercolors, oil painting, pastels and bronze sculpture, Stephanie Grimes produces amazing works of art showcasing her love of nature.  Some of her selected works are on display at the Kotler Art Gallery in the John F. Germany Public Library (900 N. Ashley) from August 1 through August 30, 2009.  Below are two images of her work.    I have kept these images small in order to preserve the integrity of her work.  If you want to see the art full size, then drop by the gallery.

Element Art

Published by George under Bowl

The Element, a condo/rental tower, is still in it’s final touch up phase.  I noticed these little decorative pieces on a walkabout last Friday.  The first two are from the Franklin Street side, and the next two are from the Cass Street side.  The patterns repeat on Tampa Street and Polk Street.  The progression of the pieces reminds me of the way jig-saw puzzle pieces are turned and matched.
