Yes, it’s quite a sight. I stopped by there at lunch yesterday and spent some time checking it out and talking to K.K. Quah, one of the four builders of “LEGOTampa”. Turns out he has summer courses for kids 8+ that teach basic design, engineering and building concepts thru the use of LEGOs. There is even something called ‘Robot Sumo’ where teams build wheeled robots out of LEGOs that are motor-driven and sensor-controlled. They try to push opponents out of a circular arena. Too bad my sprout is already enrolled elsewhere. The LEGOTampa construction is going to be one of the displays in the new Children’s Museum and, in the summer of 2010, Mr. Quah’s LEGO classes will be expanded and conducted at the museum.
