Downtown Tampa in LEGO's

Published by George under Bowl

This awesome creation pictured below is a product of the Greater Florida LEGO Train, on display in the Region’s building at 100 North Tampa Street.

Setup as part of a fundraiser for the Glazer Children’s Museum, this display is a jaw dropper.  The attention to detail is unsurpassed, and is sure to excite the minds of kids of all ages.

Rain Is Good

Published by George under Bowl

The last ten days have been some of the wettest I have seen outside of a tropical storm.  And it has curtailed my walks at lunch time, which reduces the amount of flotsam I am able to document.  Luckily, Pepper snapped these photos when a family of Sandhill Cranes landed in a horse arena.  The birds seemed to enjoy the soft rain as they picked up bugs from the water soaked field.

Squirrel Courage

Published by George under Bowl

While out for a walk a week or so ago (before the sky opened up),  I came face to face with this little fella outside of city hall.  He gave me quite the verbal lashing, chastising me for sneaking up on him and disturbing his lunchtime foraging.

Zucchini El Grande

Published by George under Bowl

A fellow cube dweller shared her latest vegetable acquisition.  A 4 lb zucchini.  Now that is some flotsam, not to mention a lot of zucchini bread, and then some.  Anyone got any recipes?

The Beast: a Pitts Model 12 with custom pitot tube cover

Published by George under Bowl

One of the many pictures from the Sun N Fun 2009, this is a Pitts Model 12, the newest stunt plane from Pitts.  This aircraft, The Beast,  flew for the first time on March 23, 2009, a little more than a month before I took this picture (April 25, 2009).   I love the custom pitot tube cover (rubber chicken).
