This little event in the air show circuit happened last week. The Bowl took a Saturday and some sunscreen to Lakeland Linder Regional Airport to check out the flotsam…
One of the cool but slightly dangerous things about the Fun N Sun, is that you are on active taxiways. Granted, there are motorcycle escorts, but still, your ten feet from a T-28 Trojan as it parks.

But one of the neatest things was a little presentation called “
An Unlikely Reunion: - Reconciliation in Vietnam.“ Dan Cherry and Hong My gave side by side accounts of the same dogfight that happened on April 16, 1972. And by side by side, I mean US and North Vietnam sides. Their first encounter was as warriors. Their second was as friends.

It was a moment I will remember.
Join us over the next few days as the Brass Bowl posts more images. We took a lot of pictures, and it’s hard to pick just a few.

I spent an hour or so trying to id this vehicle, but it plumb eluded me. I’m sure someone will be able to enlighten us.

This little fella was just sitting at the corner, waiting for me to take his picture before he motored on down the road. My research on this vehicle is sketchy, but from what I can see, due to the hood ornament, this is a 1962 year model. American Motors dropped the Nash name in the late 50′s, marketing this car simply “Metropolitan”.

Here an egret has a bite to eat. In the first picture, he has just picked a fish out of the water.

Next, he positions the little morsel for ingestion.

The little Egret gulped down his lunch before my camera could cycle for the next shot. Here he is looking pretty happy with himself.

This individual isn’t sugar coating his/her opinion on driving while yakkin’ on a cell. I did have to edit the pic a little bit, but I think the message still comes across.

The TFR Tiller Truck is the most popular post here at the Brass Bowl, and I was lucky enough to catch it on another run the other day.

Here is a picture of the rear cab, the tiller portion. You can see where the back seat driver sits.
