I’ve walked past this sculpture probably a dozen times, but my eye never saw the art until yesterday. Displayed at the Tampa Bay Preforming Art Center, the work is titled Zig Zag, a brushed aluminum piece by Linda Howard. A quick search of Ms. Howard shows an impressive body of work. Here is a link to her website.

This afternoon a rag-tag group of pirates dragged Mayor Pam Iorio from her office and demanded the key to the city. She refused, and promised to put up a good fight. A counter offer of lunch was offered.
The pirates arrive and make their way to the center of Lykes Gaslight Park.

Mayor Pam Iorio is brought before the pirates by an escort and demands made.

Screaming Fuzzy Dave gets the credit for this. While I have seen references to this ad campaign, this is the first instance of seeing it in real life. It’s a piece of marketing genius.
