Unnamed Sculpture Adorns Old Federal Courthouse (Freedom by Ofra Friedman)

As part of the Dress The Town Up for SuperBowl (my label), art is being placed at various locations in Tampa.  This is located on the grounds of the old Federal Courthouse on Florida Ave.

Tampa Fire Rescue Vent Truck

Four tickets – a new Brass Bowl record

Parking tickets are a way of life downtown.  If you work here for any length of time, you will probably get one.  I got my first one last week (it was a valid citation,  I forgot to renew my parking stub).  But sometimes, somebody not only messes up, but does so in a ongoing and spectacular manner.  Previously, I had documented a vehicle with three tickets on the windshield.  This black Mercedes S500 has four, thats quatro, citations.  Four days of tickets.  After thinking about this, I got concerned that there might be a ghastly reason for this, but when I checked the location on my afternoon break, the vehicle was in a different spot, the tickets were gone and the meter had time on it…

Crews leave their mark

This appears to be the newest little gift from a row crew along the Hillsborough River.  There are quite a number of them on the riverwalls and bridge structures along the waterline.

Piece by Piece

This is on display today in Joe Chillura Courthouse Square Park.  It is an awareness campaign for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Scerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Desease.  It will also be in Lykes Gaslight Park on Jan 22, and Centennial Park on Jan 31.

Knowledge versus Wisdom

Knowledge is knowing the street is one-way.  Wisdom is looking both directions anyway.
