Wooden Indian
I haven’t seen one of these in years, but then, I don’t frequent cigar shops. This item is located on the corner of Jackson Street and the Marion Street Transitway, where a new cigar shop and possibly restaurant is being outfitted.

Of course, this begs the question, “Why are Indians by tobacco shops?” it started a long time ago, in the 17th century. Due to the lack of literacy, symbols were used to indicate certain goods. Since Indians (Native Americans) introduced tobacco to Europeans, they became the symbol for tobacco.
