Ouch – Porche gets two parking tickets

Published by under Bowl

I see the Parking Patrol every time I venture forth into the city.  I wave at them, sometime they wave back, sometimes they look at me like I’m crazy.  Today I was standing next to a Meter Warrior at a corner, waiting on the light to change, when somebody comes up and asks her if she had change.  She was a professional, refraining from any smart answer like I would have done, rather simply stating that she did not have change.  Then the person parked his car and left without putting any money in the meter!  Yeah, she wrote him a ticket.  It’s her job.

It reminded me of this picture I took a couple of days ago.  But I think this is the result of bad karma.

Big Max at MacDill Riverwalk Park

Published by under Bowl

Big Max is a sculpture by John Henry put on exhibition here in Tampa as part of his Peninsula Project.

John Henry is known for his tall art, and this would fit that description.

Publix Cake Water Tower

Published by under Bowl

I was taking a new route to somewhere, and this popped up on US 92 in Lakeland.  Publix has it’s headquarters there, along with a very large logistics site.

Veterans Day

Published by under Bowl

On the west side of the county Courthouse is a monument to some veterans.  The poem is by Sister Esther Carlotta, A Roman Catholic nun, who was president of the Florida Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1911.  The last image is a combined closeup of the inscriptions below the two figures.

Leaning towards the left

I think I would have balanced out the load a little better.  That looks like it would be hard to drive.
