Courthouse Square Park

Published by George under Bowl

This little park covers a city block, bordered by Kennedy Blvd to the south, Morgan St to the west, Marion St to the north and Pierce St to the east.  There is a lot of flotsam in this park, and I will be posting some of it in the next few days.

Kennedy Blvd is lower left, Pierce St lower right.  View is towards the north west.

You think you’re having a bad day?

Published by George under Bowl

Put yourself in this persons shoes.  You don’t get just one, but two flat tires.  And then to add insult to injury, you get a parking ticket!  (Pam has to get her share!)

So far, without any planing on my part, this has been a week of transportation flotsam. Highway signs, parking, and accidents. Sometimes flotsam clumps together like that. Maybe something will pop up to break this up.

If anyone has any pictures of flotsam they would like to share, then by all means, send it to me at

I’ll give full credit to whoever sends post worthy material.  Share your flotsam.  You know you see it.

SUV T-boned on 60

Published by George under Bowl

First, I don’t think anyone was seriously hurt.  There was several LEO’s there, and nobody seemed to be moving with a mission.

Second, I’m sorry about the quality of the image, but it was taken through the windshield of my vehicle.

Third.  Trying to cross four lanes of SR 60 east bound traffic at 5:00pm in Brandon isn’t just a Bad Idea.  Slow down.  The life you save may be mine.

Tight Parking

Published by George under Bowl

I’ve worked downtown for awhile.  I like to think I understand the parking situation.  At least, until yesterday, when I stumbled upon this parking “lot”.  Compacts?  No.  SmartCars?  No.  Bicycles?  Nope.  No way to secure them.

And just in case if you were wondering, yeah, it’s a government building.
