Brass Bowl

This little ampitheater is located within Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park and is just one of many amenities offered by the central Tampa park. The Bowl’s staff botanist is out today, so I’m going to go out on a limb and guess the violet blooms trees are crepe myrtles (Lagerstroemia indica), which can be trimmed to a bush, or a tree. I think they add a nice splash of color. Hopefully we will get some rain soon and the grass will be able to join in the color fest.
