Sitting in the Bank of America plaza here in Tampa, this sculpture has been described as a two thirds twist triangular torus mobius. Now that is a mouthful, and I don’t think I could say it quickly twice. But I can say that I like the piece. All the curves give it a sinuous look, that contrasts with the stainless steel construction. This was a private commission for the then Barnett Plaza.

I took a stroll Friday down to the future site of the TMA, and happened upon the ground breaking for the new building. It was a who’s who of Tampa people, the most notable being Pam, whose “walk with a purpose” demeanor convinced me to ease off the padded walkway and let her by. She didn’t look like she was in the mood to have her picture taken, so I declined to stick a camera in her face. Perhaps she got the buffet bill.

I did like the fireboat. I guess I’m still really ten years old at heart, ’cause fire trucks and fire boats still bring a wide eyed “Hey lookit” response from me.

The Adamo Parking Lot was especially slow to empty yesterday, as two 18 wheelers tried to do the bump and run, only to pan and tilt at 301 and 60. I didn’t see anybody moving with urgency, nor did I see a ambulance, so I’m hoping everyone is okay.
That is, other than the butt chewing from the bosses.

I know I said I was going to put up a picture of a TBT girl today. But after thinking about it, I decided that I did not want to take the chance of causing some grief to come down on a innocent human.
So instead, I submit pictures I snapped of the Lexus commercial while it was downtown. I wasn’t able to get a frontal shot of the LS 460, but I was surprised to see the camera platform car was not another Lexus, but rather a Porsche Cayman (?).

These lovely and kind ladies where on hand at the post office to spread a little sunshine and cheer on tax day. They gave me a foam beer can that I can now throw at annoying co-workers while announcing, “Here’s your silver bullet!”
To the taterheads at TBT who dissed these Sirens of Suds, look for a picture tomorrow of one of your lovely ladies handing out that thing you call a paper.

This impressive sculpture is located on the grounds of the Henry B. Plant Museum. Entitled “The Sticks of Fire”, it is a meeting point for many University of Tampa functions. Constructed of stainless steel (I’m taking a guess here), it’s gleaming metallic shafts make a excellent counterpoint for the spires of the old Plant Musuem.
