Filling a park with song

Published by at 6:00 am under Bowl

I saw this little fella (or chickie, I can’t tell) in Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park on fine day last week. He was filling the park with his song and telling the world how glad he was to be alive. Hearing and seeing him put a little smile on my face and pretty much made my afternoon.

Getting out of the office and walking around has done a lot more for me than just helping to work off the pounds I packed on during the end of 2007. It refreshes my mind and spirit. By getting away from the desk, and not thinking of the piles of work, my mind is free to run and embrace the sights and sounds outside. I would recommend to everyone to get outside more during their lunch, and just take a minute or two to look around. Not at the traffic or buildings, but in the hedges and parks, in the sky, and find the little pieces of nature that exist alongside us here in the city.

Hey…that’s Charlie. He was singing in my back yard recently. I told him this guy I know at work takes pics of nature and things of note. He said “Well, I’m of Note!”…and with that he flew off to find you. Guess he found you.
