Sign of Adventure
A formal greeting, directions here and there, and a chance to have your alignment checked.
That’s one busy sign.
Don’t go over to the dark side. You loose so many points……

Part of Tampa’s charm is the brick streets. The red brick symbolizes home to a lot of people, and they bring a warm, old time feel to the area’s roads and buildings. I myself have some 100 year old paver bricks on my porch I got from a secret source.
But it appears that not everyone feels the same way about bricks. Or perhaps there is a message here that I am missing. I do know that this is a curiosity that I have to share. It lies within the pedestrian mall, one the ground, next to the Hyatt, and it is one ugly brick.

This sits besides the train station in Tampa. I don’t think this is a portion of the old station, but rather a addition from the renovation. In any event, I think it is a nice touch. And the time is correct, which is good considering this is a functioning train station.

Of course, if anyone has anything to add, please feel free to jump in and make a comment.

Dedicated in 1921 to Major Henry Snow, this is one of the smallest parks in the world. Located on Kennedy Blvd across from the University of Tampa, the square park looks like it is about ten feet on a side. It also looks like it could use a little TLC.
Perhaps some of the fine folks at UT could speak a few hours washing this little gem up until it shines again. It won’t be long until it hits the 100 year mark.

I have not been able to find out much information on Henry Snow, other than he sat on the city government prior to the park being dedicated. If anyone knows more, then please, add to the posting. Information is always appreciated.

Here is a little piece of comparison flotsam. One old, and one new.
The old livery scheme is to the right. The new is to the left. Same make and model vehicle. Besides the paint, there are other differences. Notice the bumper guard, the lower profile light bar. These, coupled with the bolder pattern and some other more subtle changes (the flag on the rear pillar is flat in the new scheme, while in the old scheme the flag is drawn as if it were flying in a gentle breeze for one) give a more aggressive look to the vehicle. Do you think Sheriff Gee is trying to tell us something?
